headlines; Martin Ødegaard's ankle injury set to affect Arsenal ahead of London Derby
Bad news coming in for Arsenal as captain martin Ødegaard is ruled out for the north London derby due on this Sunday after ankle injury that happen during Norway win over Austria in the UEFA nations league.
Martin Ødegaard is ruled out for at least 3 weeks since it was not a fracture. This means that he will not be available for Arsenal team during the match with spurs including some of the Norway international gamesØdegaard is also going to miss the first champions league match between the gunners and Atlanta plus Manchester city in the premier league
To Declan Rice who is suspended , Arsenal now add martin Ødegaard to the injury list which is creating advantages for the other teams because Arsenal won’t be having its star players in very critical games and this will have to affect their performance.
So how will this injury affect Arsenal?
Mikel Arteta has been depending a lot on his captain Ødegaard to play a very huge role in the midfield in fact the Norwegian has played almost all games since 2023 started and has provided 22goals and assists as of last season.
This will affect the team in many;
In the attack because Ødegaard can provide assists and later on score goals himself.
In the midfield because he is one of the best midfielders currently in the premier league, therefore arsenal will lack the experience in midfield hence a weak defense.
And finally, the gunners will miss their captain and this will reduce their momentum in their games to come. Therefore we shall notice a back slide in Arsenal’s performance especially in the next three matches
On the bright side this could offer some playing time for Jorginho, Tomas Partey and Mikel Merino the new signing and probably improve their squad depth in terms of positions.
