The record books continue to be rewritten by Cristiano Ronaldo, who now has scored a record breaking 900 goals. 900th goal last night against Croatia in the 2-1 victory in the Nations League sets a new record from the Portuguese who continues to prove himself as one to the greatest of all time (G.O.A.T).


Note that Ronaldo, Messi and Lewandowiski are still playing professional football and so their figures can change.

Cristiano Ronaldo was in tears after scoring this 900th career goal in Portugal's match against Croatia for the Nations League. This was a historic moment that will always be remembered in the history of football. It was a great moment for the Portuguese international to the extent he cried during his celebration.

Ronaldo's 900th goal puts him as the leading top scorer in football history, meaning he scored an average of 45 goals for each of the 20 calendar seasons he has played in his career. Cristiano remains 62 goals ahead for his rival Lionel Messi.

During the after match interview with Cristiano Ronaldo, the 39-year-old said: " It was an exciting goal for me, it's a round number. Only I know how hard it is to work every day to score your 900th goal. It's a unique milestone in my career.

"I don’t break records they haunt me!"

Scoring career 

Cristiano Ronaldo, who began his club career with Portuguese side Sporting CP before joining Manchester United in 2003 scoring 5 goals for Sporting CP and scored 118 goals for Manchester United in his first round and 27 more goals in his second round from September 2021 to November 2022.

Ronaldo earned a lot of fame when he left to Real Madrid and scored 450 goals in 438 games which was the peak for his football career and also holds the top scorer title as a Real Madrid player. He then went to Juventus where he scored 101 goals in just 134 appearances from 2018 to 2021.

Ronaldo has now scored 67 goal in just 73 appearances since joining Al Nassr club in Saudi Arabi, his 900th goal put his to 131 goals in 209 appearances and as the all time top scorer Portugal and the world internal goals.

The question is when is Ronaldo going to retire?

Ronaldo will be 40years old next year in February, and he is aging that’s for sure. But is he going to retire, in an interview Cristiano said that he has no plans of retiring his football career yet but he did reveal that he will end his career at his current club, Al Nassr.
